Battlestar Galactica Season Four (and final)

The remaked, reimagined, re-thought-off, refilmed, reshot, recamerashaken and rewhatever is back with it`s final season, season four, premiers FRIDAY! April 4th on SciFi channel.
From what i know the first episode is actually a recap of the overall storyline this far, other than that i don`t know much except that we will be revealed who the final cylon_in_favourite_character is, which is major kick ass, and i hope it`s not W. Adama, that would totally make me angry, but then again this season should be awesome, enjoy.

South Park "Major Boobage"

After the shocking "Britney`s new look" South Park is looking even ready to offend even more people with an homage to the 1981 movie "Heavy Metal" in which Kenny is highly addicted to a new drug that seems to have started a craze amongst the junior high students. Pwnage!

After six years that seemed like forever 3D Realms blessed us with a teaster trailer for Duke Nukem Forever, prolly like some kind of X-mas joke-gift, haha! But who knows maybe Duke Nukem Forever will be a blast, but as history has proven games with long waiting periods don`t do well, but that depends now on the developer. Ehh... who cares let`s just watch the trailer.

Stardust... i like

Stardust is something that .. makes your day. I was about to miss this movie and i couldn`t be happier i didn`t, the movie itself is amazing, i guess, in the end there are two types of movies, the ones that rise above your expectations and the ones that are under your expectations, or just somewhere in the middle, Stardust fits perfectly in the first.

However when you make it sound like "Some dude goes after a falling star to win his love`s love (lol)" it does sound kinda cheap and isn`t as much epic as post LoTR fantasy movies require, but this movie is wonderful from dialogue, casting, score, acting and above all, characters, there are a lot of characters (for a two hour movie) and they are very nice, a little predictable but i guess that`s exactly what the movie producers intended, it feels like hearing (or watching a Disney adaptation :P) a classic fairytale only very fresh and as people like it, with lots of CGI, but the use of computer rendered environments and objects (and whatnot) is in no way bad in this movie, everything is tasteful.

As i never do i won`t say much about the story since spoiling even one bit of this movie will damage it, the movie never bores and it`s obviously more in the "box" than you would expect, it`s funny and entertaining i couldn`t say more without spoiling your personal adventure. Enjoy.

Radiohead "In Rainbows"

I will not praise this album as most people do, "In Rainbows" is a great album by British rock band Radiohead, and it`s probably the best album of the year, it`s maybe the kind of thing you like over repeated listening, or in time, but for me it`s a lot above average but not that good, again, it`s my personal opinion because this is my blog, you may agree or disagree.

Wikipedia classifies it under art rock, which is pretty correct, alternative rock is probably no longer correct because the genre started as a general "alternative" classification of rock bands that didn`t fit elsewhere. So far so good, you can`t really compare this album, for me it kinda feels like Coldplay mostly, as for this year there is at least one album in this style, that is Arcade Fire "Neon Bible" which i like more. There are a couple of songs that i enjoy from "In Rainbows" one of them is "Jigsaw falling into place" but if i`m not in the mood for it i just find myself yawning... a lot.

Finally, to sum things up... i like it, but for some reason i like Arcade Fire`s album more because it`s more dynamic and the sound is a little more colourful, i would recommend both, but don`t expect much from the first listening.

LOST Season 4 Trailer

LOST, the greatest television show ever created by the human mind is coming back in February, but we all know that, what you didn`t know is that the official TRAILER is out and in this moment there is only time to say... "Oh My GOD, OMGZ WOOHOO!" but due to professional (?!?) standards I will just say, yay!

Season 4 of LOST coming in February 2008 (i must repeat myself) will be the uber pwnage, or just great either way the trailer is ever so disturbing, imagine, while i was freeze-frame-ing trough the video i`ve seen some disturbing sh*t but i will leave that to your... eyes. Muhahahaha, oh and still, i don`t think LOST will be affected by writer`s strike, either way... i`m happy.

The numnut we call Homer is on for another homaventure in this future Simpsons classic. There is a reason Homer Jay Simpson is right next to Homer the ancient Greek author of "Iliad and the Odyssey"and that`s because he is even more popular but proportionally dumber, in this next episode he will wake up in the snow with no memory of the day before, when he goes home he realizes that Marge and the kids are gone, his brain makes a huge effort in the attempt of remembering the day step by step, Good Luck Homer!

The SixtyOne - a music adventure

I came across this new website called the sixtyone with a little help from Digg, the website is a very nice and cool idea, it`s basically a "radio" like last.fm is only it has a Digg-like touch to it.

You can [bump] songs for points for example, how does that work? Well, you bump songs that you like and hope that other people will bump them too, and that will get you points, of course, points can come trough other ways like listening to music, daily log-in, referring friends so on and so forth. But if for example you are the first to bump a song that will bring you a lot of points, that is called a discovery.

The main idea of the website from what i get is to connect artists to fans, thus with more points you get more levels, more reputation and maybe some artists will see you and say hi, or at least, that`s what i think, if not, it`s still cool because it beasts last.fm.

The (relative) downside is that the bands are not very well known, but the site is at the beginning, though i noticed a lot of nice bands on thesixtyone radio, like CSS, The Darkness, Gorillaz and others that popped out but i can`t recall.

Prison Break "Boxed In"

Episode nine of season three Will air, as some know, in January after this holiday hiatus, more precisely Monday, January 14 2008.

The last episode left us with a mini-cliffhanger with Michael taken by the Panamanian army out of Sona with Alex returning to Sona instead, as some of us call, the old Switch-a-roo :).

From some synopsis available on the Internet and this promo video i found out that [Spoiler] Michael may get a taste of solitary (whatever that means, perhaps being locked somewhere by himself), T-Bag reserves a spot in the escape (who`s escape? James and Alex? HAHA Fat chance), Bellick`s life turns into an uphill battle (Bellick had it pretty bad since he got there, i`d enjoy seeing more of his sucky life) and last but not least Susan traps Sucre, our Mexican friend with a cameo in Transformers may get it pretty rough all that`s left now to do is fast forward trough X-mas with our universal RCs and see the episode.

Numb3rs "Chinese Box"

In my never ending search of shows that are worth watching now with all the strike and everything and whatnot i came across Numb3rs and it seems it`s very appreciated.

The show features FBI agent Don Eppes who recruits his brother with amazing mathematical skills (thus numbers) to help him solve the most complex crimes on the streets of Los Angeles.

It may seem a little repetitive, drama, murders, bla bla but the show is actually pretty good.

If you like twists, thrillers and such you should not miss this week`s episode entitled "Chinese Box", the show already reached it`s fourth season, but for the fans here is the official synopsis for the incoming episode: "A former FBI subcontractor guns down an agent inside the agency's headquarters and takes a member of Don's team hostage."

Balls Of Fury

Right, so was it just me or Def Leppard were promoted A LOT in this movie, i like the band but rock and ping-pong ... don`t quite work, anyway the movie is pretty fun and got a few laughs out of me, but what i really wanted to say is that i enjoy good rock music in Hollywood movies, i mean i really like to see movies like Hot Rod (that featured a lot of Europe).
Dan Fogler does a good job as he did in "Good Luck Chuck" though i would`ve cast someone with more weight to play along Christopher Walken but i guess this works, not much plot, everything is linear, a hot Asian martial-arts-ass-kicker, the Mexican version of James Bond and other crazy Chinese-American individuals make this movie a must see for bored people.

As a bonus you will enjoy the cameo of Heroes`s Hiro Nakamura.

Family Guy Sued by complete moron

Yeah, so some total jackass comedian-magician just woke up (desperate for money perhaps) and sued Family Guy for it`s feature-length movie "Stewie Griffin the untold story" because the Jesus portrayed in the movie does a stupid magic act (because his abilities were exaggerated) and this dude, Art Metrano claims it is HIS magic act performed on "the Tonight Show".

If i were spoofed by Family Guy i would`ve been proud, Metrano you are a fucking idiot, you are ugly, you are NOT funny and you can go to hell.

The AM Project

I recently came across this myspace band page that featured this band called "The AM Project", for the ones of you who saw Napoleon Dynamite i think it would be very interesting to know the vocalist(Tina Majorino) is actually Deb from the movie.

Her imdb bio states that she was in a band called The Am Project, if she still is or not it does not matter, the four songs on myspace are totally worth listening to, the vocals are pretty damn amazing, nice sound, good instrument performing and whatnot, if you don`t believe me, take a look.

Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer #4

I was undecided if i should say something about the new trailers (and new material) coming out for the next installment of the GTA series, i say this because you can`t just release it for next-generation consoles and forget about the PC, rock(star) people`s worlds with one of the best games (GTA3) that actually changed the way people think about games and well, the impact that game had was big.

GTA III was released on PS2, true but the true success came when it was launched on PC almost one year later (i believe) so even though the new trailer rocks, i couldn`t care less because i will never buy a shitty PS3 or xbox360, any way you look at the new next-gen consoles, they are not worth it, the quality is low, the consoles traded one of the things consoles had over PCs: stability, for HD and other things.

So sure, if GTA IV comes to PC, yeah that would be ok, but under the current circumstances, i have to pass.

p.s. Is it just me or the game drags in the trailer?

King of The Hill "The Minh Who Knew Too Much"

Even though I`m not that much into King of The Hill because i think the overall graphics are poor, well, not exactly poor but not my type, other categories of sitcom fans would like it, especially the oldchool Beavis and Butt-Head fans, or at least, so i think.

So if you find yourself desperate for something else now that there are`nt any other animated sitcoms to view, King of the Hill is a good choice being one of the longest running.

Stargate: Atlantis "This Mortal Coil"

In Retrospect: Thursday - Full Collapse ...

... and a little history of (modern) post-hardcore, although this is a personal opinion i believe Thursday`s "Full Collapse" album released back in 2001 is the very thing that set off the post-hardcore genre, but because a sort of confusion is around the genre itself, i will call it simply Thursdaycore.

Six years and a half ago things were different i suppose, though i don`t personally know because even if i did i was just a kid, 11 years old, that`s right. So Wikipedia has a bullshit article about post-hardcore, even though they had a nice one, i have no idea where the old one went, the new one says nothing about post-hardcore instead they say some bullcrap about post-hardcore back in the 80s and they list a series of experimental/art rock bands (???)

Now, if you look at any post-hardcore band (that has the Thursday layout and style overall) you will notice they all either launched after 2001 or changed their style after 2001, for example Thrice used to sing metalcore (Wikipedia gets that right at least) but after 2001, guess what? Post-hardcore, same goes for Saosin which is the most Thursday-like of all, again, launched after 2001.

But enough with that, overall "Full Collapse" is a great album, with some of Thursday`s bets songs like "Understanding in a car crash", "Paris in flames", "Cross out the eyes", "A Hole in the World". My favourite is "Understanding in a car crash" because i related to it in some way and it really delivers sort of an message and it plays and plays and you get a picture of a car crash, over and over, like in a movie, the same scene keeps on repeating, it`s a great song and it makes some sense.

Nowadays most post-hardcore is actually back to metalcore, like Drop Dead Gorgeous but who cares? Thursday sounds great and i`m happy with that.

American Dad "Frannie 911"

Looks like Seth MacFarlane`s new Family Guy-like show will reach a total of 50 episodes including the one that will be aired in the upcoming weekend. I`m guessing American Dad is worth watching now that Family Guy is in hiatus (i think) or something related to the writer`s strike.

Looks like in the next episode Stan will have a fight with Roger, the charismatic alien that loves to dress up and Francine comes up with a plan to reunite them (what kind of name is Francine? Sounds like a cookie).

Top 10 technology wonders that don't exist yet

I was reading this list made by dvice.com, as the title says, it`s a list of 10 technology wonders that don`t exist yet but have been designed or thought of so to say.

Apart from amazing stuff over there i found my personal favourite, the "Custom Kicks" now you would say these shoes have been "digitalized" in some way, close, but what they would do is change their appearance (you heard me) when and how the user wants, all this via an "remote control" of some sort (yeah looks like an iPod)... if those would be ever made i imagine we would have to pay for extra skins, but wouldn`t it be a blast if we could get pirated and stolen skins? Haha, this is something i need ot live to see.

"Tin Man" Miniseries

I have to say. i`m not even sure what to think about this show, but let me start from the beginning.

"Tin Man" is a new miniseries made by the Sci-Fi channel (and RHI ent.), the series is a re-imagining of "The Wizard of OZ" but with a lot of differences.

Honestly the show is not bad but the frequent cheap cliches made me quit halfway trough, the characters are so typical and don`t fit the description as they should, how is that girl cyber-punk? Either way the show has a big problem from my point of view, the acting is BAD but that would be OK without the constant cliches like "Where am I?" like if you are alone in some fucked up wood you say "Where am I?" come on, that just told me what to expect further into the show. See, if the show was a TV series this miniseries would be OK because usually the show evolves in acting ,writing and such, but this is not the case.

Tim Kring talks about Heroes "Generations" Finale

Tim Kring gave an exclusive interview for TVGuide.com explaining the sudden season finale of Heroes volume two "Generations" and giving us some clues about the two fallen heroes and the upcoming "Villains" volume, consisting of more than 11 episodes i hope :).

I don`t want to spoil but if you will read the interview it`s the same thing, you should watch the episode before reading it, if you can. The final episode left us with Hiro punishing Adam in a very ironic way and with Nathan`s unsuccessful attempt to expose the Company, Nathan`s fate seems rather dark but with pretty big fan reactions from what i`ve seen on the official forums he might be resurrected next season, after the strike ends.

Heroes "Powerless" Season Finale

"Due to the writers strike, the production crew re-worked some scenes in the event of this being the Season Finale."

Now hold on, for me the second season still feels fresh and it`s already ending? That`s one more minus the writers on strike get from me, although they have a point and they should be more accredited for their work this is starting to look BAD, with a lot of shows delayed and even modified to seem like a season finale :). I am so mad at this.... thing or whatever it is, which brings me to LOST and other great shows in some trouble but i`ll get to that in another post.

So, it seems "Powerless" will feature the final showdown between Adam and Hiro and other character`s developing storylines, even so it seems so exaggerated and unbelievable that they will end such an intriguing story they have developed with one episode, it just feels like "OK we got kinda bored let`s just show each other what cards we have and get it over with.". We have a lot of unique character situations that they should expand over more episodes but it doesn`t look that way.

I heard a speech Seth MacFarlane did about the whole strike thing and he explained stuff so any idiot could understand but even so i refuse to believe they are in SUCH a bad situation, and so poor they just have to act like kids and fuck up shows like Heroes, heck, let`s all complain, i mean, i`m a fan why don`t i get paid for involuntary show advertising? :)

Christmas/Winter Song List

I said to myself i am starting the winter in a proper way, with music that will make me at least melancholic, because Christmas is something we all experience differently and the one that does not feel even a little warm inside on Christmas is a SAD person, but not worse than those who say X-mas is NOT about presents, what are you people? Morons?

You may say that, Chiristmas makes you sad, but even so, it makes you feel, it brings back memories and all that, i`m not a religious person but i must say if world peace could be achieved it would be achieved on a Christmas day.

December Boys

The only reason i wanted to see this movie was Daniel Radcliffe, now hold on, i`m not a fan of his i was just curious what would a dude the same age as me do after reaching fame.

As some of you know Daniel got the role of Harry Potter by accident (David Heyman saw him and said he looks like Harry or something like that) and the Harry Potter series is the biggest movie he ever had a role in, there is a theory that very successful newcomers can`t be cast into other big movies because they would steal the attention or make it seem weird (see Mark Hamill - Luke Skywalker).

Surprisingly Radcliffe`s acting is very good though not many lines from his side, probably because his lack of aussie accent, the rest of the cast does a great job, but the main problem of the movie is lack of action/substance, the movie drags and gets rather boring with a lot of plot holes, someone explain to me why in late December we are told about a girl (i don`t wanna spoil) that she will return "next summer" that`s pretty big, I actually read an synopsis that said it`s actually SUMMER, but last time i checked Christmas is in December.

I understand that Kangoostralia is hot in what we consider winter but come on people, anyway if you find interesting the holiday of four orphans and their adventures into getting adopted by a charming family in late 1960s you should really see this flick.

American Dad "Surro-Gate"

In this episode Stan will face one of the things he fears the most, his wife, Francine will become a surrogate for a gay couple, as sick as that may sound only an CIA agent like Stan will be able to deal with this kind of situation.

So don`t miss this one.

SouthPark "Christmas Time in South Park" DVD

Although this DVD is out there for a while now, what better time to talk about it than now when Christmas is getting closer and we have no Family Guy or Simpsons this weekend, i don`t know why exactly, hope it`s not related to the Writer`s Strike.

The "Christmas Time in South Park" is something nobody should miss and couldn`t be better to give to someone new in South Park as a gift, this dvd is a compilation of Christmas specials, the episodes featured on this DVD include "Mr Hankey, the Christmas Poo", "Christmas Time in Hell" and two more. Enjoy.

Bionic Woman is total crap

I was so bored i did not know what to post about because not much interesting stuff happening this week, or so it seems, but anyway this was a nice opportunity to tell you guys that the new re imagining of the 70s TV show "Bionic Woman" is total junk and should not even be viewed by stoned hippies.

I mean, honestly, who gives a shit about a cyborg chick from the 70s brought up in our era of CGI and hot chicks with guns instead of legs (thank you Rodriguez, thank you) so fuck this! Maybe this show brings lots of nostalgia to old people, but even the actress is ugly and i feel like i`m speaking in the name of every dude who will eventually be old, we need hot chicks in no-brainers!

Heroes "Powerless"

Episode ten of season two left us a little wondering but since it`s not a season finale prolly nothing big will happen. Anyway episode eleven entitled "Powerless" will continue the Peter and Hiro showdown and we`ll find out what will happen to Adam, Micah will try to save Monica from the gang that took her with the help of his mom and the rest we`ll just have to see next week. The criteria aren`t many but i`ve excluded classics and games most people played anyway to make this list as helpful as it could be, so if you can`t find Bladur`s Gate, Half-Life, Diablo or any other godlike game, i did not forget. 1.Portal: Portal is by far the biggest surprise of 2007 and the biggest surprise in a long, long time, it`s genius, it`s weird, it freaks you out a little and it`s so much more than you`d think, because if you think Portal is senseless portal shooting, you are so wrong, it has one of the best stories in recent games, all with a simplicity other game developers could only dream of.

2.Grim Fandango: Grim Fandango may be rather old and it`s not that unusual after you get over the fact that you are working as a travel agent for the Department of Death, based on Mexican culture with amazing humour makes Grim Fandango one of the funniest adventure games in history.

3. Black and White: To be honest B&W is not that unusual nowadays because games tend to be as non-linear as possible but at it`s time it was a major development and today it`s still one of the most weird and funny "god" simulators, considered one of the most polished games. Made by Peter Molyneux B&W is so damn worth for this list.

4. Call Of Cthulhu: When you are making a list like this one it`s hard not to think you might have omitted some major games but that`s the beauty of it, it`s just 6 games, not THE 6 games so this is open to interpretation. Anyway Call Of Cthulhu: DCoTE is a game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft writings and from that you can only imagine how weird and good this game really is.

5. F.E.A.R. : First Encounter Assault Recon is one of that things that will mark you for the rest of your life, if you are not afraid of little girls, you will be after this game, little girls have scared the crap out of me in horror movies and not only since i can remeber. This game right here is by far one of the most frightening, weird and unusual experiences you will ever encounter.

6. Halo : Yes, i`m talking about the original Halo, and you have to admit it is a little bit unusual, but the distance between console and PC releases kind of took a little of it`s popularity so to say, but even so, chasing "aliens" around a ring-like (hence HALO) planet in the role of the Master Chief (rank) is pretty damn unusual to me.

The Simpsons "Funeral for a Friend"

This weekend we`re in for a treat with this new The Simpsons episode entitled Funeral for a Friend (with no connection with the band as far as i know) that will make the Sideshow Bob fans very happy, mostly the ones who were disappointed with his absence in The Simpsons:Movie.

Sideshow Bob once again lures Bart and his family into his mastermind hoax consisting in Marge dreaming up that she should fast-forward trough TV ads and finally the Simpsons family take interest in an ad for some restaurant where, of course, Sideshow Bob is waiting, waiting to kill Bart.Things don`t work out for Bob as they never have but this time Sideshow Bob could be done for.

This episode has a nice guest star list consisting of: Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney.

Family Guy "Peter's Daughter"

For me the weekend means Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad and any other sitcoms that air in weekends (i think King of The Hill swell) so i should write more often about upcoming episodes.

The next episode in Family Guy season six is "Peter`s Daughter" which obviously is Meg who starts getting a lot of respect from Peter after she was hurt in an accident, this one should be funny, even funnier than the 100Th episode special and "Stewie Kills Lois" because Meg never got respect from anyone in the family, not even from Lois.

My blog is now officially one month young and i have to say i`m pretty happy with what i`ve done so far, so i thought i should do a recap of things i done, most commented posts and statistics and whatnot. So, enjoy and come again.

Since it`s opening until now (calculated as first month = 30days) this blog got 10,647 unique visitors and 12,469 page views. The daily viewer average stands at 343 with 400 views and the user/visits peak was at 1,099 and 992 visitors on November 15th. I`m pretty happy with that.

Moving on, the most used keywords in Google to reach this blog were "south park the list" followed by "family guy" keywords (from Google Analytics). The Most commented blog posts were: "SouthPark Imaginationland 3/3 of season 11" and "10 Movies You Should See Right Before You Die"

And that`s about all, in the future i will write more and try to please all kinds of readers.

I was rather happy to see some new SouthPark content even though season eleven has come to an end, here we are with an deleted scene (Alternate ending) of last week`s episode "The List" featuring the fourth grade girls and their list rating every boy in class from cutest to ugliest, the alternate ending clip contains the real un-modiefied list.

Heroes "Truth & Consequences"

Next week on Heroes episode ten of season two entitled "Truth and consequences". Peter Petrelli will go with Adam to try and stop the upcoming virus cataclysm, Niki returns with bad news to Micah, Monica pushes her copy-cat abilities to the limit, Hiro starts his search for his father killer, Matt goes to the last person in the company photo and Maya must choose between her brother and Sylar. In my opinion this second season was a little draggy but this episode seems very interesting, i won`t spoil.

In other news, hit drama show Prison Break is curently in hiatus until January after the last episode left us with a nice cliffhanger.

Super Mario Galaxy blasts into a supernova

Even though Gamespot already said what i wanted to say "Mario takes to the stars ..." my title is better, ha! Anyway Super Mario Galaxy seems to be a blast and i just had to mention this game somewhere in the blog, i don`t think there is a person in this world that never heard of Mario, only when i type that name nostalgia kicks in.

Until now Super Mario Galaxy has been appreciated a lot, Gamespot calls it the best Wii game to date and other critics reviewed it with maximum score. I must say i would buy a Wii to play this game but i say that a lot, Wii could have been cheaper for what it delivers, but that`s just a matter of opinion.

10 Movies You Should See Right Before You Die

I was browsing around for a list of ten movies i should see right before i die, that`s rather normal i suppose. But i was surprised to find (a lot) of lists with movies that suck, the kind of movies you would see by accident and of course you would call it a day and say "Yeah i saw that movie". So i decided to make a list of my own, only these are the movies you should see right before you die just in case you did not, these are rather known movies so it`s more like a failsafe, if you did not, run and watch them.

So without further bla bla, here are ten movies you should see right before you die:
Number One (1): The Good, The Bad and The Ugly : trust me, if you are about to die and have not yet seen this piece of art there is NOTHING i can say, just do it™.
2. Schindler`s List : Why would you see the biggest budget b&w movie in history right before you die? Because it`s one great movie with outsanding acting, how can other lists forget this movie? Geesh...
3. Leon : Leon is not exactly mandatory to see, but while i was documenting for this list i came across it again and i thought, hey, i should see this one AGAIN before i die.
4. Edward Scissorhands: This is a Johnny Depp movie, if you think Depp is all about PoTC go kill yourself, this is plain great, it`s weird, it`s funny, it`s something you should see right before you die.
5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest : Having good knowledge about movies is like having good literature knowledge, this is the kind of movie that gives you that, i don`t know how, but this movie is weird, it`s premise sounds boring but it won`t let you go.
6. Pulp Fiction : See, this is what i`m talking about, other -movies you should see before you die- lists don`t have these movies, maybe the author thinks everybody saw them, guess again, it`s your job to make sure!
7. Forrest Gump : I`m going to pretend you have seen this movie anyway , don`t even tell me you have not.
8. Fight Club : Again, one of the recent (relative) movies that you must see, by now you are probably asking yourself why i don`t talk about the content of each movie. The answer: Humans are judgemental creatures, tell them something and they might get it wrong, humans don`t even know what they like, they think so, but they do not.
9. Back To The Future : OK, i am not insane, not yet, even though this movie isn`t something you should hang on to on your death bed, it`s just something very nice and makes you warm on the inside.
10. And last but not least, Cidade De Deus ... i ask myself why this movie, i don`t know it`s just something that opens your eyes a little, but you know, i said 10 movies, there are hundreds you should see, maybe even more, if you like those, there are more.

Rock Band and SouthPark

OK, so i lied when i said "The List" is my last post about SouthPark, but this is not really about SouthPark, it`s about Rock Band the upcoming rock band simulator for consoles to be launched later this month.

As some of you might remember, there was and episode in SouthPark when Timmy becomes a popular rock lead singer in the band "The Lords of the Underworld" later to be renamed into "Timmy & The Lords of the Underworld", so as you are prolly guessing by now, Rock Band will feature this song on it`s new bonus track list that includes songs from Flyleaf, Honest Bob, Freezepop and many others, this brings the total songs to a number of 58.

All i can say is that the game will most definitely rock, i don`t know how it will play but it will ROCK, with songs over all rock eras and bands like Dire Straits, Ramones, KISS, The Who, Black Sabbath, The Police and ... `nuff said!

The 2nd best game of all time according to gamespot.

Again i find myself talking about crysis, the next-generation crazygame, so this game is supposed to be the second best game of all time according to Gamespot, may not mean anything to you but that`s pretty huge, putting Crysis at .1 difference under Diablo is a big step and even though Crysis is so cool according to Gamespot Diablo is still better so bad luck evil Crysis, nah just kidding.

I must be fair though, crysis is not exactly the second best game of all time, it stands at 9.5 with World Of Warcraft, Valve The Orange Box and many others but GameSpot`s actual system shows Crysis right under Diablo with a small diference. Either way i`m uncertain of this game`s qualitty yet, because it still seems way before it`s time and the fan base is not that big... i mean fans are many but unlike The Orange Box only few can actually play it properly, but who am I to argue with GameSpot.

SouthPark "The List"

So here we are just one more episode to go in season 11, airing this week "The Line" episode 1114 (preview) and season finale will feature a quest for a list made by the fourth grade girls that rates every boy from the cutest to the ugliest and naturally the boys will try to seize the list. Above all that we are promised an unexpected result when the boys finally get the list.

Demonoid shares a grave with OiNK

Following OiNK`s takedown on October 23rd the firmly gripping hand of the law in Canada apparently threatened the company who rented their servers to Demonoid`s staff, one of the biggest (semi) public torrent trackers, so the staff was forced to take down the tracker "The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding."

Prolly inspired by OiNK -if you don`t know: the biggest music tracker and prolly the biggest takedown since Napster- a lot of torrent trackers are being shut down with proportionally even more being opened. I personally did not like Demonoid but it was a fast source for stuff but it`s open-to-the-world policy may be what brought it in this situation.

So this new album from Las Vegas indie band The Killers is a series of re-recordings of hit songs, covers, rare songs and cool remixes. if you like quality rock music, and especially if you like The Killers you`re gonna love this new "compilation" again with British influences like covers of Dire Straits and British post-punk band Joy Division.

The album sounds great with lots of material you won`t get bored of, ten minute "Mr. Brightside" remix with lots of synth, abbey road version of "Sam`s Town", new recording of "Move Away" from Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack. My faves are "Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll" and "Mr.Brightside" but i love the other songs just as much.
If you don`t know who The Killers are you should buy this album and then you`ll wanna buy the others as well, no matter what people say in our age of crappy music The Killers are a fresh breath of quality.

Why is Call Of Duty 4 so great, part two.

Why is CoD4 so great? because it delivers entertainment, that is what the word game stands for, and not only entertainment, if i compare it to let`s say $150 milion dollars budget movies Call Of Duty was so much better, more than entertainment, i was surprised and i am surprised to say this but it`s quite emotional, this was tried before but now you really get attached to your NPC fellow comrades and (spoiler) watch their hopes shattered right at he end *Boom* by the war they ended, the world they saved and only for them to know that.

I have to be honest, after i played Half Life Episode Two i said that nothing will please me more this year but here i am, Call of Duty is a game that has everything, it`s not senseless shooting, it`s deep, it`s tactical, it`s stealth even, it`s modern and good surprisingly good story not to mention amazing graphics.

People complained about the fact that the game is short, about 6 hours long, in my opinion, that`s the best thing, this is the way gaming should head. And maybe i can be bought with good graphics and amazing effects, but my heart beating faster and faster can`t be wrong.

Call Of Duty 4 feels like you are there

The official box art for Call Of Duty is anything but purple but trust me, this is as cute and cuddle as CoD4 gets, inside that box lies one of the most dramatic and shocking games i ever played.

Allow me to explain, you don`t even have time to say FUCK, the first 15 minutes are extremely intense, a fast paced blitz fight on an huge transport ship, with dramatic ending and extremely well done visuals, voice acting and directing so to say, it`s one of the most unbelievable scenes in a game, ever, i`m not over hyped i`m serious.

The very next scene you just happen to wake up being carried to a vehicle by some sort of extremists, transported to some sort of plaza where you can hear your heartbeat, silence then held at gun point and shot with a bulled that you can actually feel, only to find that you were an important leader, fucking well done! Good gfx optimisation, beautiful dramatic score, voice acting and cinematic experience, the only downside i could notice is that sometimes the great level design and overall graphics make you stop and admire the game fact that could get you killed.

Open Handset Alliance, Android and SciFi

I had no idea what to write about so i thought i should write about Gphone as they called it, but to be honest there isn`t really anything to talk about, the Gphone may be just a simple phone while the focus of Google is on the Open Handset Alliance and Android.

The Android is an Open Source mobile platform, they say it`s the first fully Open Source, but whatever, Google`s information for this project gives me fucking headaches, i had to browse the web for a about an hour to find stuff i already knew about it, maybe i`m overreacting, maybe something, i don`t know but it just feels like the "Gphone" with it`s Android are just the toys of a select few, the same who are working on it. The concept is mind blowing if you think how they want you to think but how will this revolutionise so much if the whole thing is so blurry.

My point is, i know what it is, you know, most Internet users do, but average people don`t even have a clue what Open Source means and i think that`s a problem in some way.

SouthPark "Guitar Queer-o"

Now that the Imaginationland episodes have come to an end it`s time for new hilarious SouthPark episodes, with two more this season this new one seems rather very interesting.

As everybody knows Guitar Hero is a very popular game for people who like to play guitar by pressing a bunch of buttons instead of the good old fashion finger fretting and picking or strumming strings. So anyhow in this all new SouthPark episode Stan and Kyle get hooked up on Guitar Hero but it seems that Stan`s incredible "guitar" skills are no match for Kyle`s, fact that could jeopardise their friendship. Don`t know if this one will be better than "Make Love Not Warcraft" but definitely worth watching for a nice laugh.

Lucy, The Daughter of The Devil

"Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil" is a 3D animated TV show part of Adult Swim on Cartoon Network about the daughter of the devil. She is 21, lives in San Francisco and always criticized about her weight, and of course, she must fulfill her destiny as the Antichrist to make her dad, Satan, proud.

Too bad though the number one enemy of Satan who was supposed to be dead rises as the local DJ Jesus (pronounced Hesús) and Lucy develops a crush on him, to Satan`s dismay. The adventures that Lucy, Satan, Becky The Devil`s advocate, and Jesus go trough will surely make you say this show is fucked up in a funny way.

So the Vatican couldn't just watch and on the trail of the
Antichrist they send a team of "action-heroes" called The Special Fathers and The homicidal Special Sister. With animation reminding of the sitcom game Grim Fandango, Satan with lame sweaters, Jesus with rising DJing fame and Lucy the non-conformist average-American girl will surely get you hooked up on this one.

NFS: Pro Street Demo Impressions

As they did in the last few years EA released today the demo for their newest street racing game, Need For Speed Pro Street, from the original exotic car racing to hot pursuits, from Porsche history to car tuning the NFS premise was speed, and later on NoS addiction.

The Pro Street demo has two cars and two circuits in two different type of races, including the new type of race where you pray you don`t get your car totaled at high speeds, speaking of damage, the damage system is not that great, you only get a feeling that the car is made of plastic.

Truth is, yes, the game is not as arcade as it used to be, even on the CASUAL setting the car is difficult to control, a good thing for the series to aim at a larger group of gamers, the damage does affect the car`s overall performance, terrain affects speed and so on, taking street racing of the "streets" certainly makes it look as a simulator, but we will see about that on November 14Th.

Family Guy: A bit of history

Since it`s first air in 1999 Family Guy went trough a lot, it was canceled two times but FOX decided to continue it after the huge numbers of fans watching the reruns on Cartoon Network`s Adult Swim. Pretty much what happened to Matt Groening`s Futurama, to return somewhere around 2008.

After it`s comeback on FOX the show released a feature-length movie and now it`s currently in season 6.

The 100th episode anniversary

The psychological barrier of the number 100 will be passed this Sunday with a great Flashback episode and the "Stewie Kills Lois" episode, that unfortunately leaked on p2p in a nearly complete release. Anyway the episode will/is great and will make a lot of people happy who missed Stewie`s masterplans, only this time he will try to kill his Mum whatever it takes.

SouthPark "Imaginationland" synopsis

Now that the longest running multi-part episode of SouthPark is out i think it would be fair to talk about the whole story of the Imaginationland episodes.
It all started with Cartman and his leprechaun and the contract with Kyle that said if the leprechaun is real Kyle will have to suck Eric`s balls, finally the leprechaun makes it`s appearance to Kyle`s surprise and warns them that a terrible thing is going to happen, so it happens that the mayor of Imaginationland comes to the boys and takes them to Imaginationland, the place where everything ever imagined comes to life, and then, just like that, terrorists begin their attack on the imagination and try to free the evil imagination forces separated only by a wall, as the leprechaun warned, on an attempt to make an escape Butters is left for dead and used as a tool to send a message to the world from the terrorists. Cartman goes to trial with Kyle and the judge agrees that Kyle has to suck his balls, the government brings up their ImaginationGate and conclude that they should nuke but then the council of nine puts on a plan to defeat the evil forces, the council consisting of Jesus, Luke Skywalker, Gandalf, Popeye and more including that Asshole talking lion from Narnia.

Anyway Butters becomes the chosen one and the epic battle between good and evil is won yet again by the good but the imagination still gets nuked but re-imagined by Butters. Oh! And Kyle sucks Cartman`s balls but not how you would expect, but that`s for you to discover. This one is a great episode, and if you can get it now it would be worth it.

FlatOut: Head On?

For my last post this month i was thinking to write about something related to halloween but then i came across a tiny bit of news, or maybe news for me (???), looks like the next game in the FlatOut franchise called Ultimate Carnage is now called Head On, and this Ultimate Carnage was meant to be Xbox 360 exclusive, but since Microsoft owns Xbox it would not hurt it if it were to be released on Microsoft`s other "console" called Windows Vista, so the game is now called Head On, i wanted to write a mini preview but with a little over 3 months before it`s release nothing is known about it except a bunch of pics, surely those pics were not made just for the heck of it, but what about promoting the game?

Wake the fuck up guys! FlatOut 2 was one of the games with the best video optimization i have seen, so that is one of the reasons i wanted to talk about this new one, because FlatOut 2 was fun and almost anyone could play it, if this next game won`t stand up to it`s predecessor standards on January 15th i will personally eject out my window and try to land myself in a fence fifty meters high.

Crysis and friends...

The recently released (huge) demo of Crysis with the respected hype and "Boo Hoo!" is nothing more than a mere tech show off for the few who can actually afford it. Nevertheless we can`t say that Crysis the game will be a disappointment and nobody will like it, we will have a big percent who will bow to the Eye candy graphics and then we will have the rest complaining about system requirements, even so, i admit that a few years back people used to complain about requirements of games like Far Cry and more, this is normal.
Now i will tell you what is NOT normal: Having games like Crysis with requirements that are not justified while we have the recently released Episode Two of Half-Life 2. Packed in the Orange Box with Portal (amazing game), Team Fortress, and past games from the series is THE BEST deal you can get, and will get, this year. I say that Crysis does not justify itself because we have extremely optimized games like HL Episode Two to choose over it with extraordinary story and cinematic experience and still being true to the classic FPS genre, i have a feeling, more than a feeling, that Crysis will be appreciated by those who can afford it and try to shut up those who can`t, this is already happening, because most will say "Eh, i`ll buy a new PC next year" or something, but what happens when Crysis is over-hyped on all major websites... truth is you feel kind of small. Gaming Industry/CryTek: One, Average working man saving up for a quality game/machine: Zero.

SouthPark Imaginationland 3/3 of season 11

As i did last week, and i will every week South Park is on, i will make a short preview of the upcoming kick-ass South Park episodes.
Right, so last week`s episode two of the three part episode "Imaginationland" left us with an interesting cliffhanger and with enough past episode (ManBearPig) references to laugh at all summer, i mean winter... autumn damn it!
So the Pentagon used it`s "Stargate" to blow it up as usual by sending a team led by Kurt Russell in the Imaginationland, now after Al Gore`s creature made some damage Stan ends up in Imaginationland while Kyle was left unconscious and saved miraculously by Cartman, showing a lot of emotion from his side but with the one purpose of... Kyle sucking his balls.
So finally to my point, in this episode AL Gore is back on the trail of ManBearPig, Stan stands shoulder to shoulder with Butters to fight back the evil forces of the Decepticon...err imagination, including classics like the Clones from star wars, Freddy Krueger and the most fearsome of all The Woodland Creatures imagined by Cartman himself. And last but not least Cartman will do whatever it takes to make Kyle stand up to his contract.

New Generation TV shows

TV prime time shows have been around for a long time, from comedies and raw sci-fi that was around at the peak of TV popularity to TiVO and Internet streaming, TV series were a good way to pass the time.
Today`s shows are far more complicated, with bigger budgets and with fans talking about them all over the blogosphere/websites.
So we are dealing with a new trend of shows, with lots of mysteries, science fiction and even some messiah concepts that have become quite frequent in today`s shows, probably pointing out man`s desire for the truth and his evolution over 2000 years pointing out that something is fishy, letting imagination break loose amazed us with shows like Lost, The 4400, the comic-book stylized Heroes and even re adaptations like Battlestar Galactica (much darker than the original) and the list can go on, people have a real desire for apocalyptic concepts, end of the world, conspiracies (to fit Prison Break around here) thus other shows end up cancelled or left behind. The first months of 2008 will be great with major shows coming back, i think Lost is still the most anticipated one but until then i invite you to watch the next episode of Heroes "The Line" airing tomorrow.

The Simpsons: GAME

After the 20 year wait for The Simpsons: MOVIE, Matt Groening`s animated sitcom is not standing by waiting another 20 years. The Simpsons Game will be hitting all major and portable consoles at the end of this month (Oct 30Th), yes, you heard me, CONSOLES.
That sucks, but what can we do, we can only hope that by some miracle PC users will be able to play it, anyway this game seems to be a good enough reason for some to buy the new psp or even Nintendo`s Wii.
I think we all remember Simpsons Hit`n`run game that was sort of an Grand Theft Auto parody, well this time we have epic parodies of games and other things, such as Medal Of Homer (Medal of Honor), Neverquest (Everquest) and the list can go on, from the trailers on the EA website I can say the game looks pretty fun and the graphics are perfect for this type of game.
With the movie, game and the new season 19 the Simpsons look fresh and still the longest running animated series. This makes me think of Bart`s chalkboard writing "I will not wait 20 years for another movie" in S19 episode 1 and Maggie`s first word "Sequel".

Maybe MMOs got it all wrong...

From the first "Massive" online games to greatest time stealer of all time (you know what i`m talking about). RPGs initially provided a great platform to develop online games with more than just a couple of players online, but on the other side, at the same time we have MMOs and we have complex storyline single player games with stunning graphics, sound, voice acting and an overall movie-like experience.
STOP! Wait a second, that`s bad. I know everyone will say that it`s like i`m comparing two different genres, but i`m not, for example RPGs, we have MMORPGs boring as hell with limited motivation like being the best out of thousands/million and immersive SP RPGs with immersive storylines, gameplay and everything. For some that was not such a big deal... until now.
Looking at what MMOs we`ll be seeing in the near future the genre is becoming more gameplay and cinematic oriented, why? Because even the toughest grinders get bored, that`s why.
So we are looking at a step they should have developed earlier, i`m not saying MMOs are bad as they are, just that everything get`s old and people want adrenaline not grinding and doing the same thing over and over. Yeah WOW was a big step, but it kind of sold it`s soul for money.

Not as boring as i thought...

If you can stand Keanu Reeves in his trademark hello-i-have-the-same-face-in-every-movie-ish acting than you bought yourself a ticket to one of the most dazzling recent fantasy-romance movies.
The Lake House was released in 2006 but i have a habit of missing out on this type of movies for the eye candy ones like 300, Transformers and whatnot.
Normally i don`t like romance movies but this one has something that i found amazing since i was a kid, well, close enough.
I believe the concept of time-travel has fascinated generations from the Flintstones to the Robinsons, The Lake House deals with that concept in an impressive way, long story short whatever real-time Kate (Sandra Bullock) puts in the lake house mailbox, Alex (Reeves) gets in the past, from that, just use your imagination.
So yeah, i still think Keanu is worse than many characters in supporting roles but at least he does his job without messing up and sends out a nice message of something, we, normal bread eaters will never get. Oh and by the way, Sandra still looks OK even though she looked better in Speed or whatever movie she was in with cardboard face over here.

Tales Don`t Tell Themselves

I wanted to write about this album since summer, but it`s better now since now i can read all the reviews and what other people think about it. But what do i see when i read the reviews, this album is rated average at best.

For me it`s definitely not average, it`s one of the best musical releases this year, so the dipshit that said this is bad and only 12 yo girls will like it, well, i guess HE is part of little girls.

Funeral For A Friend is pulling it`s ass away from the average alternative/"post-hardcore" sell-out bands, this album has a THEME, a thing other bands don`t have or vaguely define as dark... or not so dark thematic.

So "Tales Don`t Tell Themselves" makes a first impression of... boredom, wich is true but after a while it gets much better, the double bass pedal is no longer used but the sound can be rather colourful and complex, i think one of the main reasons i like it is personal one and because i relate to it.

The complex songwriting, amazing vocals and guest vocals from lead singer`s "The Secret Show" band mate (female), returning home while at sea, in a cubicle in some metropolis or listening to it on an island (like i did) can bring lots of nostalgia.

Sitcom Overview: American Dad

I must bore you people (readers) with just one more entry on this category, the last one for this week at least. But make no mistake, as inocent as cartoons were at their origins (even though we all know the myths surrounding Disney) American Dad is not inocent, not for kids, and not so sure i`d show this to old people either.

American Dad is created by Seth MacFarlane the same dude that made Family Guy, well it`s obvious since we have strong connections between the two, for example instead of the sarcastic, alcoholic, talking intelectual dog Brian from Family Guy we get a 2in1, a talking semi-fascist german goldfish Klaus and an amazing character-wise alien Roger, nothing special apart from being saved from Area51 this alien has an drinking obsession, semi-genius ideas that start good and end up very bad, numerous disguises and huge history of his own.

Then we have Peter Griffins omologue Stan Smith, appart from his john doe name he is ultra-conservative republican weapons specialist CIA agent and above all that, still, he is a total moron, his actions can only be compared to Eric Carman`s at best, how he got involved with an charming woman like Francine is a mistery but that sounds like a sitcom stereotype. Like that`s not enough we get classic characters like Stan`s doughter the kind-of-hippie girl Hayley and her brother the geek with an boob obsession Steve.

American Dad has been going for 2 seaons now and it started it`s third, it`s the kind of show american patriots laugh at but prolly don`t get the inside jokes, the show`s characters are not much to talk about, references to Family Guy at every minute but still fresh and worth a watch.

SouthPark Imaginationland 2/3 of season 11

While last week episode 10 of SouthPark`s 11th season was great, this week on SouthPark we`ll get to find out what`s going on in Imaginationland the 2nd part of the 3 announced, this is i believe the longest series of multi-part episodes on SouthPark, while last season we saw two great two part episodes, starting with Cartoon Wars (my personal favourite) and conlcuding with the shocking Go God Go! where Cartman`s desire for the Nintendo Wii ends up with time travel, religious implications and conflicts on an epic scale while Ms. Garrison gets... ewww, but there`s more. So this season we get this three parter full of everything the human mind ever created while Cartman tries to find his leprechaun, we seem to get some taste of the epic in this episode while Stan and Kyle try, and by try i mean forced, to help the Pentagon. This series of 3 and one more episode will set the scene ready for the season finale wich we all hope it will be glorious, or not, since the last Emmy SouthPark won is now in a big poop as of episode 9. Oh and not to worry since SouthPark will be going 14 episodes/year for 3 more years.

And i`m a little bit philosophical...

  In all honesty there are people who aim to be average, i mean, you get to shut the fudge up a lot, your opinion counts for well, nothing and all that crazy stuff... well i say, bollocks!
  Not long ago some b...lady from the crazyhouse of psychology or whatever said i have an
average IQ. Fudge that! Based on some aeon old tests made by someone as crazy as she is, someone prolly dead but who gives a fudge!?!
  So anyway i`m not taking it for granted `cause hell i`m supposed to be smart, but no matter,
my point was that people should not be labeled like that, i call people stupid all the time but i
don`t make a study out of it, draw diagrams and make a huge banner that sais YOU ARE
AVERAGE.
  Two things we don`t need in the world, psychologists and doctors who know you better than you know yourself but are prolly as fudged up as you are, if not, worse.
So that`s it for tonight i think, how does this work, my god what do i do now? There is an orange button that sais [PUBLISH POST] ... ok, wait i`m going to press it see what it does.

p.s. Just kidding, i hate blogs but you know what they say "know your enemy".
